Organization is everything: set a time frame, topic and rules

Post by nishat695 »

Set a time for the Twitter chat when your target group is available. Make sure that no other regular, similar chat is taking place at the same time. The chat should not last longer than an hour. That corresponds to four to five questions with around 10 minutes of answering time, including introduction and conclusion.

Important rule to create a little order in the chat: The questions are marked with F1, F2, F3... and the respective answers with A1, A2, A3..., always in conjunction with the defined Twitter chat hashtag. This allows the questions and answers to be clearly assigned in the chat and later in the documentation.

The best way to document the entire process of a Twitter talk is on a landing page. Prepare the chat, the topic, the questions and the rules on it. This page can then be used as the central page for the chat and communicated in advance as a link in the invitations and announcements. Meltwater, for example, organizes its weekly chats using this method.

5. A lot of drumming helps a lot: the benin whatsapp data invitation to the Twitter chat
Even with Twitter chats, participants don't come by themselves. The chat should therefore be announced in advance. Don't limit yourself to Twitter. Use other social media channels on your website and blog as well. If you only have a few followers, you can significantly increase your reach with sponsored invitation tweets.

Your selected influencers will invite you to Twitter (with @twittername) to chat together on the # topic at short notice. This guarantees a high level of attention and, unlike a direct message on Twitter, is not considered spam.

Meltwater DACH confirms that regular chats and direct invitations via Twitter lead to a very good conversion rate. When sending invitations, also consider language and time zones.

6. Keeping all the balls up: Moderating a Twitter chat
Twitterchat-_Tips_for_Moderators3.pngAs a chat moderator, you have your hands full. Good preparation ensures that you can concentrate better on moderation. After all, listening and tweeting is multitasking enough. All tweets for the welcome, intro, organization and closing should be prepared. The same goes for the questions, possible answers and controversies. This way you can keep the topic interesting even if the Twitter community is not so keen on it.

Tip: It is a good idea to use two screens while moderating. This way you can keep an eye on the monitoring on one screen and have your notes ready to hand on the other.

It is also helpful to set it up via Hootsuite. Here, following the pattern mentioned above, the hashtag "#..." in conjunction with the questions/answers F1#..., A1#... can be displayed clearly in columns and are easier to follow.
